As the head of the Department of Applied Mechanics, I would like to extend a warm and respectful welcome to you on the department’s website!

The Department of Applied Mechanics teaches courses in the field of engineering mechanics to students in the Faculty of Automotive Engineering at Audi Hungaria and conducts research.

The department’s areas of scientific research include: solving problems in engineering statics, strength of materials, dynamics, vibration theory, and coupled thermomechanical problems; further development and application of numerical methods in engineering mechanics to solve linear and nonlinear problems; engineering applications of the finite element method and its further development; and research into modeling and experimental methods for the mechanics of fiber-reinforced composite materials and viscoelastic materials. In all of these research areas, the department also possesses expertise in engineering applications.

Finite element and mathematical software packages, as well as the measuring equipment in the department’s laboratory, provide the necessary infrastructure for the research conducted at the department.

You can read more about the history of our department on the “About the Department” page.
